Ninty-four black-and-white text illustrations - the line drawings were done by Miss Frieda Lueddemann directly from museum specimans.

Condition:Dark blue cloth binding shows little or no shelf wear- gold embossed title on spine. text block is tight - no loose pages. Endpapers are of good quality (there is a card pocket on rear endpaper and a small amount of glue residue). One color plate shows some mildew stain but there are no other marks of any kind to the text,illustations, or line drawings. This book was withdrawn from the National Geographic Society Library and has received exceptionally good handling. Overall condition is fine.
