The Illustrated Herbal by Wilfrid Blunt and Sandra Raphael.

Wilfrid Blunt is a well-known expert on botanical illustration.

The illustrations are accompanied by the authors' descriptive, explanatory and historical notes on the manuscripts and books. This book is illustrated throughout with sixty-four color plates and about eighty black and white manuscript illustrations, woodcuts and engravings, all of which are accompanied by the authors' descriptive, explanatory and historical notes on the manuscripts and books themselves.

Condition: Withdrawn from The National Geographic Society Library and has received good handling. Text block is tight and there are no splits or hinge separations. There are no marks of any kind to the text or illustrations. There is a bookplate of the NGSL denoting that this is a bequest from George T. Nealley on the front endpaper and a card pocket on the reverse. The back endpaper has been damaged by what appears to glue residue from a removed card pocket. The book and dust jacket is protected by a Mylar cover which has been taped to the boards. Dust jacket is fine and has not been price clipped. There are three stickers to the Mylar cover which do not affect the dust jacket.
