Stated Copyright 1964, number line on copyright page reads (not stated). Illustrated Cloth Hard Cover Boards and Spine. Pages not numbered, 8" x 10" tall, .25" thick. Color Illustrations, Yaroslava, E Rachëv (illustrator). Turquoise pictorial cover w/snowflake end-pages. Illustrated in whimsical color and black line combination. Wear to ends and corners, with some light staining.

Book Condition: Very good for a childs book over 47 years old. Some wear at tips and outer spine ends, covers have some mild soiling and shelf wear (see scans). Some pages are starting to loosen some but intact.

Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket.

About This Book: A retelling of a traditional tale of how a boy's lost mitten becomes a refuge from the cold for an increasing number of animals.

About The Author: Alvin Tresselt (born September 30, 1916, Passaic, New Jersey - July 24, 2000) was a pioneering children's book author and graphic designer. His book White Snow, Bright Snow (illustrated by Roger Duvoisin) won the Caldecott Medal. His most popular book was his retelling of the Ukrainian folktale The Mitten, illustrated by Yaroslova.

Alvin Tresselt died on July 24, 2000.
