Book Condition: Fair for a book over 114 years old/No Jacket as issued. 4th edition assumed, Reprint with 4 dates stated, 1890, 1895, 1896 and 1897. 5" x 7.5" tall, 1" thick. Maroon leather spine & cloth boards. Innards are clean & tight, yellowing, staining and foxing. Spine is gone, Front and back boards have some leather missing (see scans for condition). The book comes with some interesting B&W illustrations and maps, some full-page. 17 color maps, some full-page and some double-page. 365 pp, plus reference table, declaration of independence, the constitution, appendix, principal history dates, a short list of american history books, question for examination, topical anaysis, index and ads. Makes an enjoyable read!. A good reference or reading copy.
About The Auther: David Henry Montgomery (April 7, 1837 - May 28, 1928), or D.H. Montgomery as he was usually known, was an American author of several history textbooks. His "Leading Facts" series were widely used in schools from the 1890s through the 1920s.
