Priciples of Physical Geology by John E. Sanders Copyright 1981 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. - 1st Printing Large 8 1/2 x 11 inch - 624 pages - indexed College level introductory course or reference book containing seven appendices on mineral & rock Identification, geochemistry, maps, etc. The book is exhaustive in its completeness and nearly encyclopedic in its approach. Many black and white illustrations and bicolor figures.

Chapters include: Lithosphere plates, catastrophes, resources, Grand Canyon, Mississippi Delta, Spokane flood, minerals, igneous, rocks, glaciers, lava, thermal, fossel, metamorphic rock, hydrologic cycle, pleistocene glaciation, wind, ocean basins, sedimentation, earthquakes, etc.

Condition: Withdrawn from the National Geographic Society Library and has received gentle handling. It has the usual card pockets and labels - very tightly bound - no marks of any kind to text, maps, or illustrations. Overall condition is near fine.
